A Holistic approach

to health and spiritual well-being

Amanda’s classes combine both the dynamic movement of Hatha-Vinyasa style yoga with detailed alignment instruction in each pose. She has a warm, approachable teaching style, which allows the student a place in any asana, where they can personalize their practice by finding the opening that they need.

 

Amanda is 200RYT certified through Zuna Yoga in Bali in the style of Hatha-Vinyasa.  She is a member of Yoga Alliance.  In 2013, Amanda trained at Grove Kids Yoga and is certified to make yoga fun and approachable for toddlers through teens.  Amanda regularly attends yoga workshops to continue her education and deepen her yoga knowledge. She has trained with many influential yogis around the world such as Dice Klein, Laura Sykora, Patrick Beach and Simon-Borg-Olivier.

In addition to her yoga studies, Amanda is a certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).   Coaching individuals, couples and families supporting them in making small, gradual healthy changes in their lives.  These changes lead to incrementally bigger change that become sustainable over the long term with her support.

In early 2016, Amanda completed a mindfulness training through Mindful Schools. With this educational opportunity she learned formal techniques to practice mindfulness. Amanda created a Mindfulness program where she teaches a multi-week mindfulness curriculum to Elementary students.  She looks forward to continuing this important work of sharing mindfulness in  schools by training other teachers  and members of staff on  the importance of implementing mindfulness techniques in the classroom. 

YOGA

Private/Semi-Private Yoga Instruction

Deepen your practice or simply schedule a yoga session at your convenience.   Originally yoga was taught directly by one teacher directly to one student.  Ancient teachers understood the importance of personalizing each yoga practice to meet the needs of the student.  Today a private yoga class allows for a more intimate window into your practice along with allowing complete flexibility in scheduling your yoga class. 

 

Private yoga can help you to start a new practice, allow experienced practitioners to take their practice to the next level, or learn personalized modifications to traditional asanas.  Semi-privates offer many of the same benefits as a private class and allow you and a few friends to practice, learn and have fun together. 

 

With a consistent yoga practice, we learn ‘awareness’. We become better at identifying our negative thoughts and noticing what effect this has on us both physically and mentally. If our mind starts racing or stressing about something, we can recognize this and redirect our thoughts.

As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I create a supportive environment that enables you to articulate and achieve your goals. Throughout my education, I have been exposed to the most cutting-edge dietary theories and studied highly effective coaching techniques to help you find the right lifestyle that works best for you.

Most approaches to healthy eating dwell on calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to explore basic improvements and implement gradual changes during our work together.

An Integrative Nutrition Health Coach is a guide and mentor who empowers you and provides ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness.

My Approach

 

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.

Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.
